Kootenai Lodge is an exquisite property located in an extraordinary place. Here are some of the estate’s features during the Rolfing ownership.

bullet Located eight miles southeast of Bigfork, Montana in the Swan Valley, just 40 minutes from Glacier International Park Airport.
bullet 40 acres bordered by nearly a half mile of Swan Lake and Swan River frontage. Johnson Creek flows through approximately 1,000 feet of the property. Swan Lake is nearly 10 miles long, one of the few unregulated larger lakes in the west.
bullet The estate includes 20 buildings – log cabins, main lodge, work areas, recreation center, dining cabin with commercial kitchen, and a 31-stall barn.
bullet Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and featured in local and national publications and on Home & Garden Television series Restore America in 1999.
bullet Famous Western artist Charles M. Russell was an early visitor and created numerous etchings in the Main Lodge courtyard.
bullet The main lodge, reminiscent of the Great Camps in the Adirondacks, was designed by Kirtland Cutter, architect of the Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park.
bullet Most of the buildings were built in the 1920s with an attention to detail and craftsmanship that would be difficult to match today.
bullet Log buildings are built of larch logs and trimmed with unpeeled western cedar.
bullet Extensive restorations have been completed including new roofs, foundations, winterizing, redecorating and the addition of modern amenities.
bullet Furnishings include many of the original pieces such as imported wicker and handmade furniture made by local craftsman from native wood.
bullet A splendid rock entrance is graced with an iron gate created by Jeffrey Funk, an artist who also was commissioned to create custom fireplace screens for the renovated cabins.
bullet The level property has virgin timber including ponderosa pine, western larch, fir, spruce and birch.
bullet Frequently visited by wildlife; including deer, moose, bear, eagle, osprey and waterfowl.
bullet Less than an hour away are Glacier National Park, millions of acres of wilderness, two alpine ski areas, and ten golf courses.
